Addressing Barriers to Accessing Healthcare & Public Benefits

Justice for Breakfast discussion series

March 13, 2019 ~ 8:15 am

With an eye towards eliminating racial disparities in healthcare and public benefits access, the PJC’s Access to Health & Public Benefits Project conducted a six-month long scan of the rapidly changing health rights advocacy landscape. We heard from community members about their experiences accessing healthcare. We also gathered feedback from local and national advocates, clinicians and others on gaps in healthcare and advocacy capacity. All of these perspectives helped us develop new race and health equity-centered advocacy priorities designed to reflect community needs. Come discuss how we connected with community members, what we learned, and how we plan to address racial disparities in healthcare and public benefits access.
